what is this place?
pvreaders is a social place for students to share about what they're reading. Occasionally teachers will post prompts for students to respond to, but mostly we’ll just post blank dates. Students can then comment to those dates about what they’re reading on that date, and then read about what others are reading. So basically, it’s a place to have conversations about books.
You don’t have to be a member of the blog to post, but you do have to sign all of your work. Any unsigned work will be deleted.
We encourage you to have a look around at what people are saying about books. If you’re reading something cool, let us know. If you have a question about something, ask it. We don’t guarantee an answer, but you’ll probably be surprised. If you agree with someone, let them know. If you disagree with someone, let them know but be polite about it.
Most of all, we hope that the joy or anger or humor you experience while reading a book can be shared with others, and conversations can begin here that will build our community of pvreaders.

ReplyDeleteI just got done reading Soul Surfer: a True Story of Faith Family and Fighting to Get Back on Board by Bethany Hamilton. This book was a really good book. It was pretty much a story of believing in God, and letting Him take control. And knowing that no matter what happens, its for the best.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank and I am on page 155. Right now they are in hiding and Anne doesn't think the war will ever end. She is also thinking about some of her friends she had to leave behind and she is sorry she couldn't help them.

ReplyDeletei am reading a book called (i)ride bmx(/i) and i am on page 39 this book is very informational about how to build bikes and all the technical stuff like about how to even ride or just do tricks and crazy tricks like back flips and other stuff like that and it says how much tire pressure you should have in your bike and how tight or loose your breaks should be but so far this is a really good book and i like it a lot and think that every one should read it

ReplyDeleteI'm reading Dark Visions by L. J. Smith and I'm on page 494. It is about a girl named Kaitlyn who is psychic and is traveling around with four other psychic people her age. They are trying to defeat Mr. Zetes, a guy who is trying to get them. Then one of the psychics, Gabriel, turns bad and goes to help Mr. Zetes. I wonder what's going to happen next.

ReplyDeleteI am now reading Eclipse by Shephenie Meyers. It took me 6 hours to re- read New
Moon at one sitting,so Eclipse won't take long at all. As you can see, I do nothing but read if I have no plans, or we eat dinner out. I can't tag anything. I'm a technological falure.

ReplyDeleteMy book is about Basketball It is called Basketball statictics. This is a good book for beginners of the great game Basketball. So if you want to learn how to play Basketball I think you should read this book.

ReplyDeleteIm reading Jesus Freaks by dc Talk. Im on pg. 128. I just finished Found by Magraret Peterson Haddix. I liked it because it was about a bunch of adopted kids. i dont know if i would have enjoyed it otherwise though, because it wasnt the best read. but im hooked so ill need to finish the series.

ReplyDeleteMy book is Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston. I'm on page 28. I didn't know if I would like this book very much because it is autobiography, but I liked Night so I figured I should give it a shot. I really like this book.

ReplyDeleteI just fineshed a book called Jimi hendrix it is preatty good becouse it talks about his life. you get to leran about when he was a kid and his parents geting a deforce. it shows you picture of his first band. it evan tells you about him at woodstock. If you like biographys and if you like the aurgulibly best guitarest EVER then you would like this book

ReplyDeleteAs you may know I was reading a book called Waiting for Christopher. As it turned out it was an amazing book and it is one of the few book's that I approve of. Now I am reading a book called Cool Careers For Girl's ( Health ) so far thing's a bit confusing other thing's well totally normal. I would tell young girl's looking for information on Cool Careers For Girl's in Health to read this book it give's you alot of information on the prices you make in diffrent places in health.

by Rick Riordan.This book is the 5 of the Percy Jackson books. I think it might be the last one. I hope not, because I love those books. If you have not read it or you have not read the other 4 books I think you should. The first one is called The Lighting Thief. If you like monsters,fighting, and action you should read all the books.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to read Jeferson By M. Schlesinger, JR. I beleive that this book is about Thomas Jefferson. I think this because the title is Jefferson . Plus it has a picture of Thomas Jefferson and it is a biography. I am going to read this because I need a biography on my book list.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Inkheart by Cornelia Funke.I am on page 466. So far this book is really good. I am planning on reading the series because it is so exiting. I saw the movie before i read the book so now i picking out all the missed peaces and all the things they added from the movie. What has happened in the book so far is were Meggie, Mo, Dustfinger, and the boy (who i can't remember the nameof right now) have gone to see the auther of Inkheart. I think that the auther's three grandchildren sound like so much fun and soooooo cute. i think Pippo will be the one out of the family to be the next auther!! :-) can't wait to read more!!!!!!!!!:-)

ReplyDeleteI am reading the book Night World No.1 By one of my favorite authors L. J. Smith the books are all about Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, and Shapeshifters and what happens when the laws of the Night World get broken.
The laws are:
1) The people of the night world can't tell humans that it exists
2) The people of the night world can't fall in love with humans.
There are three books in one binding and I'm on page 251 and I've finished the first book Secret Vampire and now I'm reading Daughters of Darkness

ReplyDeleteThe book im reading is The Devils Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. Im on page 146. I started reading this book in my holocaust studies class. The people in my group thought the book was confusing and dumb but i surprisingly understood it. If you like to read about history and another persons story you should read this book. =)

ReplyDeleteim readin tell its a good book its about a sign that someone is bluffing. It might be a twitch, a nervous cough, or a glance. David learned a lot about tells as he watched his stepfather play the game. Now the man has been murdered, and the teen lies when a policeman shows up on his doorstep asking questions. The police quickly focus in on him, and in convincing them of his innocence, David thinks back to his stepfather's tells and realizes some long-hidden truths about his family. Embedded in the mystery are two smaller puzzles involving the boy's brother and birth father. Unfortunately, David's questions about why this man disappeared from his life and where he is now are never explained, but they are not central to the plot. The main mystery is wrapped up so quickly and neatly that fans of the genre might be disappointed that it's over so soon. This short novel is aimed at teens with lower reading levels but it will also appeal to others.
