what is this place?
pvreaders is a social place for students to share about what they're reading. Occasionally teachers will post prompts for students to respond to, but mostly we’ll just post blank dates. Students can then comment to those dates about what they’re reading on that date, and then read about what others are reading. So basically, it’s a place to have conversations about books.
You don’t have to be a member of the blog to post, but you do have to sign all of your work. Any unsigned work will be deleted.
We encourage you to have a look around at what people are saying about books. If you’re reading something cool, let us know. If you have a question about something, ask it. We don’t guarantee an answer, but you’ll probably be surprised. If you agree with someone, let them know. If you disagree with someone, let them know but be polite about it.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading -The Big Field by Mike Lupica. I'm on page 63 and this book is great for baseball readers like myself. Mike Lupica captures the field as if you were a baseball player with words like musty, ploom of dust, and wet grass to give the presense of the field to the reader. Also, at the biginning of the book there was a huge baseball red heron. The main character, Hutch, has been all of his life a shortstop. Hutch in the introdution talks about how he loves when the ball is hit at him. He gives out names like Jeter, Eckstein, and Ripken Jr. These are famous shortstops. Now in the the regional championship a ball is hit at the shortstop, only Hutch isn't playing shortstop. The best player, Wills, is and Hutch is devastated. This got me reading and now I can't stop. This will hopefully end in a good way, but with Mike Lupica putting in red herons, you never know whats next.

ReplyDeleteOver spring brake I read books 3-5 of the - Percy Jackson and the Olympians By Rick Riordan . Now I am done with the all of the books. I loved the books. My favorit was - The Last Olympian ,wich is book 5 the final book. It was nonstop action. But i was alittle peved that nothing happened with Percy and Annabeth till the vary end of the book. And that it didn't have more about them two.

ReplyDeleteI just finished -Danger in Quicksand Swamp by Bill Wallace. This was a great book because of all the action like when Dan almost gets eaten by the alligators or when Dan and Chris fall into the quicksand and are stuggling to survive. Also, Bill Wallace adds nature to the story because he grew up in Oklahoma which is where the book takes place. I can't tell you if they survive bacause then it would spoil the book. Just remember the beginnig and it will make sense.

ReplyDeleteI have also read all of the -Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riodan. Have you seen the movie? It doesn't follow the story very well just like the -The City of Ember and -Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

ReplyDeletei am reading the book Craker i am on page 170 and its about this dog is brought to vitnam and she is traiend to snif for bombs and traps so the army people can be safe and not get hurt funning into bomb or just walking into a land mine. they trust on her alot.then craker is paried with a guy named rick. becouse they need to truxt eachother and nedd t obecome a team. but being a team is realy hard when he dosent trust cracker. then eventually they work it out and thats how far i have goten thats ware i am at.

ReplyDeleteThe Spiderwick Chronicles The Field Guide by Tony Diterlizzi and Holly black is a really good series for people who would like adventure and fantasy like things like talking trees, trolls and other things like that is going tjo like this. this book is about theses three kids that are into a lot of trouble they just moved into thier relatives house and there was something mysterious about it they found out that long ago thier uncle was stolen from these fairies so they're trying to help him but they cont if they do then he would die.

ReplyDeleteI am reading "Peeling the Onion" by Wendy Orr. I am on page 69. Its pretty good so far and i would definately recomend it. i like how goes really in depth about what the main character is REALLY thinking. It makes it easier to see things from her perspective.

ReplyDeleteI'm readingthe book "The Kingdom Keepers" and I'm on page 180. It's a really interesting book, sometimes confusing. I'm not really that far in the story but I think it pretty good so far!

ReplyDeleteI'm reading The List its about a young lawyer who's father deis and all that he lwft his son was a list with names on it. As the story goes people from all over the world give large affers for the list so believes the list is importent.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book "Shadows On the Sea", I am on page 98, This is a really good book but a little hard to understand it. You have to pay really close attention to the details of the story. I would strongly suggest this book to people that like reading about adventurous journeys.

ReplyDeleteI am reading the book Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident I am on page 63 and the book is really good. So far all thats has went on is Artemis was accused of sending people underground and attacking the LEP(fairy police). The only way for them to get Artemis down there was to neutralize his body guard and pursuade Artemis then make him fall asleep. I am on the second book of this 6 book series.

ReplyDeleteI read The One Left Behind by: Willo Davis Roberts over spring break.I have to say it was probably one of the best books i read in a long time! I kind of feel bad for Mandy because her sister Angel dies, she gets herself in a pickle, and her uncle is crazy and talks to tomatos!
(lol) She deals with alot in this book you should check it out soon its a really good book! Also its short not one of those big bulky books tht take forever to read.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading Sirens Song by Anne Ursa. I'm on page 308. This is a great book so far its about sirens which are monsters that sing and a male is instantly attracted to the voise.
I just finished fish boy explains it all,a chapter in the book that explains Zee A Main charachter.

Now im reading the sequl of "The City of Ember" and "The People of Sparks". It is called "The Prophet of Yonwood".It is the third book. there is four though.

ReplyDeleteI am reading a cool book Tourist Trap and it is really good so far! There are Allen and Edgar they are trying to save there gunkyard from becoming a hotel. There evil mayor is trying to think of himself and not of others, he wants lots of tourists come and stay in the hotel and spend there money! Allen and Edgar are so excited to start there adventure !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :]

Then in church on pp 76-77 he trys to steal a peice of bread and is stopped by the man holding it with his free hand.

She makes a new friend named Kay-Kay Resse. Kay-Kay Resse is a popular person but her friends are always mean to her, so she hangs out with Rosie when that happens.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Harry Potter and the Socerer's Stone by: J.K Rowling and im on page 240 and in this book Harry's parents died and now he lives with his aunt and uncle. His aunt and uncle tell him his parents died in a car wreck but he later finds out that they because of a guy named Voldemort,and now he want to kill Harry. and later on Harry goes to Hogwarts and meets Ron,Hagrad,and Hermione. They have gotten into alot of trouble but you have to read the book to find out what happens.

ReplyDeleteim reading a cool book that just came out called the reconing its kida cool but a little weired if you have ever read the clhoe sander series then you will know kinda what it is aout but if you dont heres a clue cloe sander is a necromancer which is kinda weired and she running away from the edision group cus there using them as experemets and they are the eopxperement that kinda overcharged and stuff well if you like supernatural stuff then ull like this main characters are 2 sorceres a necromancer and werewolfso ummmmm.....bye
